CAP ARCONA TO RIO

In a forgotten shipping office at the waterfront of Recife, the former Pernambuco, I saw recently an original version of this poster framed on the wall as if tickets were still available for the next CAP ARCONA crossing from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon.
What a beautiful ship she was. Between 1927 and 1939 this ship was one of the very best ways to sail down to Rio de Janeiro. In those times there were also the Royal Mail "white and gold steamers", the Cie. Sud Autlantique liners from Bordeaux and Lisbon as well as the Italia Line passenger ships. So many ships to choose from in Lisbon in the 1930s...
