EUROPA leaving Lisbon 10 June 2014

The cruise ship EUROPA photographed by Luis Miguel Correia outbound from Lisbon on 10 June 2014 after her single call in Lisbon for this year. However her new running mate EUROPA 2 has four calls for 2014. 

Since I started photographing the cruise ships in Lisbon more than 40 years ago, I have photographed 4 different Hapag lloyd cruise ships named EUROPA, including EUROPA 2: the EUROPA from 1965, the former KUNGSHOLM of 1953, the brand new EUROPA of 1981 and 1999, and more recently the EUROPA 2.

AIDASOL in Lisbon 19-09-2011

The new cruise ship AIDASOL leaving Lisbon on 19 September 2011 following her inaugural call an overnight stay included on her first round Europe cruise.

AIDASOL is the fifth cruise ship delivered by Meyer Werft to AIDA Cruises of Rostock, a Carnival Group company geared to the German market. Aida has another sister of AIDASOL now building in Papenburg, the AIDAMAR, with delivery set for 2012, and two new larger sister ships have been ordered from Japan for deliveries in 2012 and 2014.
